the known history of the werewolves

Werewolves; Humans who have the ability to shape-shift into wolves. Also known as "loup-garou" or "lycanthrope". In Greek Mythology, Lycaon (Father of Callisto and first King of Arcadia) was a man who could transform into a wolf as the result of eating human flesh. In his land of Arcadia, men could transform and roam as a pack of wolves. Werewolves typically acknowledge their history to Greece and tie into the ancient race known as Vampires.

Werewolves and vampires have a lot in common. They accept each other as cousins, although each group believes that their kind came first. There are less Vampires than there are Werewolves and most Werewolves never come across a vampire in their lifetime. - Like Vampires, Werewolves need blood and in their case, flesh, to survive and stay healthy. Humans do not know publicly know of Werewolves. There are less than a dozen Packs across the globe and most are small families who carry the ability as a curse. In the medieval ages, Werewolves were accepted as a realistic threat. Usually they were correct, because these dark and Gothic times made it easy for things that went bump in the night to ravage the lands. In modern times some governments have tried to research Supernatural activity and are rumored to have captured Werewolves to make into secret weapons.
